Most first-timers overpay and lose hours decoding a country they can't read. Korea Made Easy turns five years of actually living in Seoul into simple, money-saving guides — what to buy, what to skip, and exactly what it costs — so you travel and settle in like you've already been here.

Every guide is written for an international audience that doesn't read Korean, and grounded in the same Korean-language data (Google Trends Korea, Naver DataLab) and lived-in detail that English-only sites can't easily copy. You get the local shortcut, not a rewrite of the same tourist-board page.

Who writes this

I'm Yongwoo Chung (정용우), and I've lived in Seoul for five years. I started my career at a Korean automaker and later moved into the battery industry, so reading the numbers behind a trend — prices, demand curves, what's actually driving a spike — is second nature to me. I write these guides from the perspective of someone who lives here and has done the boring parts (the visa paperwork, the phone plans, the cost-of-living math) myself.

Everything on this site is written and edited by me. When I say “I moved money with Wise” or “these are the numbers I actually live on,” I mean it — the first-person voice is real, not a house style.

How I choose topics

I monitor real search-demand signals — primarily Google Trends (Korea) and Naver DataLab — to catch genuine spikes rather than recycled headlines. A topic only becomes an article when there is a clear, measurable surge in interest and something worth explaining to newcomers. Those Korean-language data sources are the one thing English-only sites can't easily replicate, and they're the backbone of what I publish.

How I write and fact-check

Every article combines three things: verifiable facts from named sources, original context written for non-Korean readers, and, where relevant, reactions from international communities. Claims are linked to their sources, and I distinguish reporting from opinion.

In the interest of transparency: I use AI writing tools to help with first drafts, but every article is reviewed, fact-checked, and edited by me before it goes live. I publish only what I can source, and I correct errors when readers flag them.
