This Privacy Policy explains how Korea Made Easy (KME, operated by Yongwoo in Seoul, South Korea; "we", "us") handles information when you visit this website. By using the site, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
We do not require you to create an account to read our articles. We collect personal information only when you voluntarily provide it:
- Contact Form: When you send a message through our Contact page, your name, email address, and message content are transmitted via Web3Forms to deliver your inquiry directly to our inbox. We use this information solely to respond to your message.
- Trip Check requests: When you send a request through our Trip Check page, your details are transmitted via Web3Forms to our inbox, and a short alert that contains no personal details is sent to the site owner's phone through the ntfy.sh notification service. We use your information solely to reply and prepare your review.
- Email Newsletter: If you sign up for our Korea Cheat Sheet or newsletter, your email address is collected and securely managed through MailerLite. We use this to deliver the requested guide and occasional travel updates. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email.
- Technical Data: Like most websites, our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically logs standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited for security, performance monitoring, and debugging.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Vercel Web Analytics to measure website traffic and understand which guides are most helpful to readers. These tools record aggregate data such as device type, browser, referring pages, time spent on pages, and general geographic location. This data is evaluated in the aggregate to improve site speed and content quality.
Cookies and advertising
We use cookies and similar technologies to support site functionality, analyze traffic, and display advertising through third-party ad networks, including Google AdSense.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. For more choices, visit aboutads.info.
Affiliate and partner links
Some articles on this site contain affiliate links. We participate in affiliate programs through platforms including Travelpayouts and Stay22, which connect to travel service providers such as Klook, Booking.com, and GetYourGuide. When you click on an affiliate link and make an eligible booking or purchase, a referral cookie is placed by the merchant or platform to record the transaction, and we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. We only recommend services, transport options, and tools that provide genuine practical value to travelers.
Third-party links
Our articles link to external sources, including official government portals, transit operators, and news outlets. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of external websites. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any site you visit.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Depending on your location (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to request access to or deletion of your information. To make a request, please reach out via our Contact page.
